Upholstery Cleaning
Are you Confused when it comes to cleaning & maintaining Upholstery?
a critical though often neglected responsibility of upholstery owners is routine maintenance. Care must begin when the upholstery is first put into service. The following guidelines will assist you in maintaining upholstered fabrics.
Cleaning Frequency
Every 12 to 24 months, professionally clean upholstered furniture and fabrics subjected to routine use. Increased cleaning frequency may be required when fabric subjected to heavy use, or when it is located in homes occupied by persons with allergies or respiratory sensitivity.
Furniture and fabric manufacturers recommend that consumers not wait until severe soiling occurs before cleaning is accomplished. The greater the soiling, the less the likelihood of restoring the original color, appearance and texture of the fabric – and the greater the adverse affect on indoor environmental quality (IEQ).

Before attempting to clean any fabric, always check the manufacturer's preferred method of cleaning. Pre-test a small hidden area on the item, before applying the cleaner to the entire piece.

Here are a few Upholstery Care Tips to prolong the life of your investment.
Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight, as sunlight causes fading.
Dirty furnace/air conditioner filters and vents can cause dust build-up on furnishings. Regular cleaning will help eliminate dust build-up.
Avoid extreme changes in temperature. Arrange furniture away from radiators, registers and air-conditioning units.
Use caution when covering upholstered furniture with dark-colored blankets and sheets. Dye may rub off or bleed onto the fabric.
Avoid placing newspaper on upholstered fabric, printing inks can rub off easily, and is difficult to remove.
Clean up spills immediately. Use a blotting action rather than a wiping action.
Wicker Care
Wicker furniture should be brushed or vacuumed for general maintenance. Wicker can withstand humidity, but should not be left outdoors in rain, direct sunlight, or dew. All of these can permanently damage wicker.
