Water Damage & Restoration Nashville

Commercial & Residential Services

Water Damage is NO JOKE!! Sudden cold temperatures can leave you with a wet home if pipes freeze, then thaw.  If you've ever known someone with a burst plumbing sytem, you know it's serious.

Any water damage to your home or business must be addressed within 48-72 hours before mold growth begins.

First:  stop the water flow -- shut off the water to the building.  If you need help with this, call the water department or a plumber -- you need help fast!  A neighbor may be able to help get the main shut off.

Try to remove as much water as possible, and move furniture out of the rooms, drying wood and directing fans at furniture.

Call your homeowner's or business insurance to tell them of the problem.  It may be covered under your insurance.

If carpeting is wet, call for help -- the first thing is to get the wet pad out from under the carpet, either in sections if the room is only partially wet, or the whole room.  Your insurance company may want to handle this for you, or they may tell you to find a water damage company.

Everything that was wet - floors, walls, etc.,  must be treated with mold retardant chemicals, dried and restored.  The amount of damage determines the level of help you need.  Many people try to go it alone, only to find that they did not address all the moisture, allowing mold to grow within the walls or under the carpeting.  Just feeling the top of the carpet will not tell you the condition of the pad or subfloor.

Imagine paying to replace all your subfloors, drywall and having to move out of your home for mold remediation.  Imagine all your furniture having to be treated or discarded -- imagine the health problems you and your family could have breathing mold.

I guess my main advice is to call for help -- and ask questions about what you can do to minimize damage and cost.  And do it right away!  Let us know if we can help you, we are happy to give you any tips to help save your home and your money.
