Worry Free Upholstery Cleaning From Utah's Most Trusted Furniture Cleaner
When something stains or otherwise soils upholstery, cleaning it up can be a daunting task. Upholstered furniture and carpeting offer a soft, comfortable texture, but its porous materials will absorb all kind of stuff. These materials are not always easy to extract. Even odors can be difficult to get rid of. Particles get trapped between the threads and below the surface area.
Chemicals used in today’s cleaners can be harmful to your upholstery and possibly your family and pets. These chemicals can get trapped in the fabrics. Dust and dirt are attracted to these left over chemicals and build up over time, causing stains to appear.
Many Fabrics require special attention and treatments. There are many types of fabric. Some of the cleaning instructions found on clothing labels include: use cold water, hot water, hand wash, hang dry, dry clean only, etc. Fabrics on furniture have very special needs also. Although most furniture will have labels with cleaning instructions or cleaning codes they are usually not very helpful.
There are three cleaning codes:
W – Stands for Water. This Fabric should be safe to clean with water based products.
S – Solvent cleaning is recommended.
X – Do not clean by any method.
Other labels on furniture are usually not any more helpful, they rarely tell us what the fabric is made from. (No, the little black and white labels that begin, “All new material consisting of”, are not referring to the fabric but instead refer to the batting and foam.
All of our technicians receive training on analyzing and testing fabrics and on all of the products, methods and techniques to clean all of these different types of fabrics.
Tips:
-
Ask for the fiber content of the fabric when you buy new furniture. It will not be on the labels, and will probably not be on any of the literature you receive either. The information is available through, if you ask for it. (Fewer than 1% of customers know the exact content of the fabrics on any of their furniture.)
- If you don’t know what you are doing – call us! You could damage your furniture.
- For furniture that is more durable, serviceable and cleans up nicely, limit your choices to synthetic fibers.
- For additional savings, have us apply the protectant on your new furniture rather than the furniture store.
