So in the interest of conservation, Utahns have been urged to run laundry machines and dishwashers only when they are full, to shorten shower time and replace showerheads and faucets with water-efficient models and use a hose nozzle or turn off the water while washing vehicles. Carpet cleaning may seem a corner to cut in the interest of water conservation, but weighing and measuring the 160 gallons against 100,000 dust mites per square yard and more than 200,000 microbes of bacteria per square inch, well, is it a conundrum?
