Learn About the History of Bluebonnet Chem-Dry
I am Bruce Rutkowski. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I attended college at the University of Tesax at San Antonio (UTSA), and I received my BBA in 1986. I majored in Business Management and I settled in a career working for a manufacturing company in San Antonio. Over the next 20 years, I worked my way up to a plant management position overseeing operations in a facility that included over 500 employees, along with supervisors, and management personnel. Along the way, I became married to Karen, and we have two wonderful boys anemd John and Ryan. We moved to a small community called La Vernia, Texas, which is one county away from San Antonio.
After 21 years of employment, I was forced to make a change in my career. All of the production operations were phased out and moved overseas to China (an unfortunate sign of the times). Now in my mid forties, I had to reinvent myself. I always admired certain friends and relatives of mine who had the courage to work for themselves, and I decided if I was ever to do it, now would be the time. After doing some research, I decided a carpet cleaning company was needed in my area, and Chem-Dry was the franchise that stood out.
In May of last year (2010), I left what was left of my former company, and west to Logan, Utah to train for my new career as a franchise owner. Since then I have grown and expanded into the San Antonio market by acquiring Executive Chem-Dry. This now gives the ability to work in San Antonio, as well as the La Vernia area. The purchase of Executive Chem-Dry gave me tile and grout cleaning services, which is helping me to become busier.
I will always make time for my family, and I remain involved in my sons' busy lives. I coach their sports teams, and since my wife has a full time career, I play a big part in the day to day routine of all of their lives, and I could not be happier.
