Carpet Cleaning - Tips & Suggestions.

 Thank you for trusting Chem-Dry of Allen County with your carpet, upholstery and hard surface cleaning needs. Here are some suggestions that will help both of us as you prepare for your cleaning:

  1. Please remove any small items such as dining room chairs, magazine racks, floor plants, etc. from any areas that are going to be cleaned.
  2. Please remove all breakable items from or near furniture which will have to be temporarily moved, cleaned under and placed back.
  3. Please pin up any full-length draperies so that they will be at least 6 inches (dollar bill length) up off of the floor.
  4. Please pin up any skirts on upholstered furniture or beds which may be touching the carpet.
  5. Computer equipment , china cabinets, sectional sofas, entertainment centers, antique and fragile furniture cannot be moved. However, carpet underneath such items can be cleaned where sufficient access space is available, or we can edge right around the base.
  6. During pre-inspection walk-through with your cleaning technicians, please advise them of any special instructions to follow when moving furniture. It is helpful to know about weak or missing legs, loose tops or previous repairs.
  7. Please call attention to any spots or stains which may require special cleaning techniques like urine, ink, paint, red stains, markers, makeup, water or plant stains, tea or coffee stains, etc..
  8. Please put your pets in a safe, quite place where our cleaning won’t disturb them.
  9. A special Note about odors:  We do everything possible to clean thoroughly and reduce odors. However, due to the depth & scope of contamination pet urine odors are beyond the scope of normal cleaning in other words a simple cleaning will not remove this odor. Urine in carpeting is a severe problem that requires major restoration work, not just simple cleaning & treating.   10.  For safety sake, be sure to keep a very close eye on your curious little ones.

Special After-Care Information:

  1. Please leave the plastic "tabs" and "blocks" we place under your furniture for 3-4 hours after cleaning.  Not all furniture will require these protective devises. Depending on the leg/foot material and finish tabs or blocks may or may not be required. Remember the Chem-Dry advantage carpets will dry in 1-2 hour not 1-2 days as you may have experienced with other cleaning processes in the past. This kind of prolonged exposure to moisture can cause some finishes (typically, antigue or products made outside the USA) to soften and migrate to unwanted surfaces. Because we do not soak your floors with gallons of soapy water there is much less of a risk of a problem.
  2. As a safety precaution, please do not let your children or pets crawl, walk or lie down on the carpet until it is dry, typically 2 hours.
  3. Please use extreme caution when walking from the damp carpet to any hard surface area.
